The Brucknerhaus Linz will host Michi Gaigg and her L’Orfeo Barockorchester with the Collegium Vocale and four renowned singers for Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio. All six parts of this masterpiece will be performed. It wasn’t intended to be performed this way though 290 years ago: Bach composed the six cantatas to be performed during the sermons in the period between the 25th December 1734 and Epiphany Sunday on 6th January 1735.
